It’s a Tuesday afternoon in Sandy Springs. Your laptop is open on a cafe table, your cold brew is leaving a ring on the table, and your three-year-old just came down the big slide for the eleventh time. You can see her from your seat. You’ve also answered six emails.
That’s the whole idea behind the cafe at Ready Set FUN. It’s a real work and play cafe: a place to get something done, or finally finish a conversation with another parent, while your kids burn off energy 30 feet away.
Why most “kid friendly coffee shops near me” don’t work for working parents
Search for kid friendly coffee shops near me and you’ll find plenty of places that welcome kids. Welcoming usually means a high chair and a basket of board books. You get about 20 minutes before someone is bored, loud, or under the table.
Ready Set FUN flips that. The play space is the main event, and the cafe was built around it. Kids get soft play, slides, the sensory sandbox, and imagination art. You get a seat with a clear view of all of it. A playtime visit is two hours, and two adults are included with each child’s ticket, so sitting down doesn’t cost you a thing.
What you need to actually get work done
The basics are covered:
- Wifi that’s fast enough for email, docs, and a video call if you mute when the ball fountain goes off.
- Outlets near the tables, so a two-hour session doesn’t end at 18% battery.
- Tables and counter seats with room for a laptop and a drink.
- The sightline. Every seat looks out over the playground. You’re working, but you’re not wondering.
We’ll be honest: it sounds like a play space, because it is one. Bring earbuds for calls. Weekday afternoons are usually the calmest stretch for a focused work block. Weekday mornings are when the regulars come out, which makes them the best time to catch up with other parents. Weekends belong to birthday parties.
What’s on the menu
No “curated selection of delectable refreshments.” Here’s what we actually pour:
- Coffee: lattes and other espresso drinks, drip coffee, and cold brew (oat milk is an option)
- Tea: hot tea
- Something stronger: wine by the glass, including Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, rosé, sparkling, and Pinot Noir, plus beer like Creature Comforts Tropicalia
- Snacks: packaged snacks for kids and grown-ups, with some better-for-you options
The building is peanut and tree nut free, which is one less thing to think about. And if someone forgot socks (required for kids and adults on the playground), we sell those at the cafe counter too.

The other kind of getting things done
Some mornings the to-do list is “see an actual adult.” The cafe is where Sandy Springs parents meet a friend from Dunwoody or Brookhaven halfway, let the kids disappear into the playground together, and have a full conversation. With complete sentences. And a glass of rosé at 4 PM if the week calls for it.
Before you go
- Where: 6331 Roswell Rd, Sandy Springs, GA 30328
